Chats
Where the work happens.
A Chat is a conversation with MillOS. It is where an estimate starts, where you follow the work, and where the finished files appear.
Chats in a Project
A Project keeps its Chats together. Start one from the Project page with Start a chat, or from the Project's row in the sidebar with New chat. A Chat in a Project can open the Project's drawings in Takeoff Studio and its Estimate review.
Chats without a Project
New chat in the sidebar opens the home page, where you can ask a quick question without a Project. These Chats appear under Recents in the sidebar, and keep their own files.
Manage a Chat
Open the three-dot menu on a Chat in the sidebar:
| Item | What it does |
|---|---|
| Pin or Unpin | Keep the Chat near the top. |
| Rename | Rename it in place. Press Enter to save, or Escape to cancel. |
| Move to project | Choose the Project it belongs to. |
| Remove from project | Take it out of its Project. |
| Delete | Remove the Chat (owners, admins and estimators). Project files stay in the Workspace. |
