Sheets and scale

Find a sheet and check its scale.

Every measurement depends on the scale of its sheet, so Takeoff Studio keeps the scale with each sheet and shows how far it can be trusted.

Find a sheet

The Sheets button at the top shows the sheet you are on, with its number and title. Hover it to read "Choose sheets. Drawings and supporting documents, grouped by document." The arrows beside it move to the previous or next sheet in the same document.

Choose Sheets to open the list:

  • Documents are grouped under Drawings and Supporting documents. Each shows its title, how many sheets it holds and its status.
  • Each sheet shows its number and title, and whether it is On screen or an Open tab. Choose a row to open it.
  • The eye button lets you look at a sheet without opening it. The columns button shows it beside the current sheet, up to four at a time.
  • Plan set gallery (press G) shows every sheet as a card. Pick one sheet, or several, and the order you pick is the order they appear side by side. Back to one sheet returns you.

Each card in the gallery carries a scale badge:

BadgeWhat it means
scale ✓A scale is set and confirmed.
scale ⚠ confirmMillOS set the scale and nobody has confirmed it yet.
plan: and a scaleThe plan's text shows a scale and none is set yet.
no scaleNo scale is set.

Set or confirm a scale

The Scale menu in the bar shows the current scale. It reads Set scale until a scale exists, then the scale itself, with confirm beside one MillOS set and check beside one that differs from the plan's text. The ft and m buttons switch between Imperial (ft) and Metric (m).

Inside the menu:

  • Confirm agent-set scale accepts the scale MillOS chose. Run Check a dimension first if you want to be sure.
  • Plan says followed by a scale applies the scale found in the plan's text.
  • Standard lists architectural, engineering and metric scales. Choose one and the sheet's quantities update.
  • Calibrate two points lets you click both ends of a known dimension and type its real length, then choose Apply.
  • Check a dimension (press K) measures a printed dimension against the drawing and tells you whether the scale checks out.
  • Revert scale returns to the previous scale after a change.

The menu notes that the scale is Remembered per sheet, so changing one sheet leaves the others alone.
