Where rates come from
How prices in an estimate are chosen.
A priced line uses a rate from your Product Library. Each rate carries a note of where it came from and when, so you can judge how far to trust it.
What MillOS reads
MillOS reads the one rate at your Workspace's Price level: Budget, Average or Premium. You choose the level on the Rate card. Saving a new level updates the file MillOS reads. MillOS never changes your list.
Source and date
Every product has a Source and a Price as of date. The source is text you write, for example a quote or a price list, so you decide how much detail to keep. The date records when the rate was quoted or last confirmed.
Keeping prices fresh
On the Rate card, Price goes stale after sets how many days a price stands before the library flags it. The default is 365, and you can set any whole number from 1 to 3650.
A flagged price shows a flag and a note: "Priced more than N days ago and not reviewed since." The Stale price chip at the top of the list counts them. Check the rate, then choose Mark as reviewed in the product's detail to reset the clock.
